This website is supported by a donation from the Cheffins family. Colleen and Wally Cheffins were both life-long Bowen residents who volunteered at the Bowen Museum and Historical Society for many decades.
Wally served in the RAAF during WW2 before returning to farm in Bowen until his death in 2001. He married Colleen ( née Kenny) in 1951 and they raised daughters Julie and Tracy at Inverdon, Bowen.
Wally assisted with many museum projects including the return of the North Head lighthouse lens, while Colleen served on the committee and as a museum minder for several decades until her death in 2020 aged 92 years.
The Cheffins family has donated funds in their memory, to honour their contribution, and support further development and progress of the Bowen Museum and Historical Society.
